Biography

Rui Zhang is pursuing his Ph.D. degree in the Department of Computing at The Hong Kong Polytechnic University, co-supervised by Prof. Song Guo and Prof. Ping Li. Before that, he received his M.Eng. degree from Zhejiang University in 2020, co-supervised by Prof. Peng Cheng and Prof. Jiming Chen, and his B.Eng. degree from Northeastern University in 2017.

His research interest broadly lies in: Trustworthy Machine Learning, Federated Learning, and Differential Privacy. Some specific topics such as gradient inversion, label recovery, data auditing, and privacy-preserved learning are highly involved.
